Varaždin Baroque Evenings

Le Musiche Nove, conducted by Claudio Osele, performs at the prestigious Croatian baroque festival on September 28th, 2014. Besides music by Riccardo Broschi, Hasse, Vivaldi, Handel, Galuppi and Matthias Georg Monn, the ensemble and soprano Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli offer the extremely rare opportunity to listen to an opera aria by Tomaso Albinoni: Quel sembiante from "L'incostanza schernita", premiered in 1727 at the San Samuele Theatre in Venice. This great coloratura aria is the very first finding from the research Claudio Osele carried out into the fascinating, yet neglected, operatic production of the Venetian composer to be performed in public.
